Conflicted on Nat Kills, but like this little ditty.
LOVE THIS. How adorable is she and this video?
He's cute, whatever, the song is eh, but he is fun to watch bounce around. And I love that 90s breakbeat.
That girl Jodie Conners above reminded me of Mutya, which brought this to mind.
LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! I'm a huge fan of text in music videos, you all know that right? I dont know what to make of this dude (Lenny Kravitz and Robyn Thicke's offspring?) - but i like the video and song a lot.
1. Superbass. I haven't stood in front of a TV and tried to learn music video choreo since my teens, something about this little bit of choreo kills me.
2. Musically this little break in Call Your Girlfriend is TOO exactly on my sweet spot to be believed. It's Brit's Piece Of Me break, times 10. Worship. The choreo is very ROBYN but works so well in this one take environ.
I have no idea what to write so PopMuse is gonna communicate to you through youtube vids, let's see where this goes, shall we? Starting here...
There was a week where Graffitti 6 completely took over Los Angeles. I meant to blog about them then, but then I saw this video and the lead singer's looks distracted me. He is almost too pretty to be this soulful (I had that problem with Sam Sparro at first too, but quickly got over it.) Get into this band.
Lily was recently introduced to this song and just tonight we played the video for her. She was sprawled over Bloghungry's chest, face as close to the laptop screen as she could get it. Watching (studying) so intensely it made me want to cry. I see little pieces of myself in her in moments like that more than any other. Beyond that there are some serious diva icon moments in this clip I'd forgotten about, watch again and see.
Do any of you remember this video/song? It came on the radio tonight on my drive home and took me baaaack! (College Radio DJs are so IMPORTANT!)
I dont even know what to say about this crazy shit below. I'm posting it and it's gonna blow your boom boom brains. Bloghungry just walked by and said "Get your glow sticks out much?" Exaaaaaactly.
Sorry I've been gone ladies. Working like a maniac.
But if you are missing me, just watch this video and know that it is making me sooooooo happy these days. This is my heaven. The first little dance break on the first chorus, dear god, I watch it over and over and over.
PopMuse was lucky enough to see a screening of this wonderful doc about Chaz Bono calledBecoming Chaz. Yes it's about his transitioning but it's really about a girlfriend-girlfriend to boyfriend-girlfriend relationship and a mother-daughter to mother-daughter-kinda-ok-with-you-being-my-son relationship. Needless to say it's a must see and it's on OWN this week.
I can't seem to embed it for you but you can watch it here or here. I like it and am excited to see it in HQ with good sound. Here are my tweets about it, sums up my feeling best...
sometimes i'll just turn on the camera in a moment in the car that seems unexpected or important to the day, kind of journaling with my iPhone. this is not safe, but it is comforting to know I can go back and watch later and remember the moment. here's two moments. the one above was on way home from work. one below was after picking up lily from daycare. both so filled with layered meaning for me.
Because of this amazing blog THE UNHEARD MUSIC which has tons and tons of 'unheard' Prince rarities, PopMuse has fallen into a deep Prince spiral and I'm loving every second of it.
Prince is not a fan of youtube and removes pretty much everything of his from the site, but I was needing some Prince video and found this fav moment still up (altered) but I'll take what I can get.
Every damn note of this song and performance are perfection, complete perfection.
Occasionally something that sent to my inbox that I actually enjoy. FREEDOM OR DEATH would fall into that category. They are a Electro-folk duo from Toronto. I love a duo, I love a Canadian and I love a male vocal on an electro-folk song. Triple win. Oh and they've done a cover of PINK's "SOBER" on this EP too. Check them out.
Here's nice band member Steve's note to PopMuse:
Freedom Or Death - We are a duo from Toronto, who released our first self-titled EP in June 2010. We had both been in the Canadian music industry for over 10 years and decided to leave the corporate environment of the major labels to pursue “our” art over “their” business. Every song (or child as we call them) was raised to be the best it could be on its own. We didn't worry about it making sense and how it would fit in with the rest of our songs (children). What resulted is a mix of genres from Electronica, Indie Rock to Folk.
