Secret Life Of The American Teenager

E-Mail to Nilblogette re: New ABC Family Show "The Secret Life Of The American Teenager."

Set your TiVo to tape "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" on ABC Family.

We are watching it right now and it has so many new megastars in it our eyes are dripping glitter.  It erases everything and everyone.  It is the best show ever (tonight).

New Michael Cera, new J. Lo, new Jason Priestly, new Julia Roberts, new Luke Perry, new Emma Roberts, new Reese Witherspoon, new Michelle Obama.  So much talent in this show I think the casting agent was God.

Teen pregnancy, Jesus ridicule, downs syndrome, oral sex, sexual addiction, molestation, masturbation, therapy, Jeanie Garth, Luke Duke, Ernie Hudson, and Molly Ringwald... All in Episode One.  Hang onto your ass, it's about to be blown away.

WEEZER: PORK & BEANS

Weezer is really more Bloghungry's thing than mine, but I really like this video.  And I normally hate gimmicky pop videos that appropriate internet phenomenas as if they are some big joke.  But NOT here.

The moment where Rivers Cuomo hugs Chris Crocker seems sincere on a deep level.  I  think they both need a hug really really bad.  Decide for yourself, I'm feeling generous with my opinions these days.

Our pathes shant cross again.

While you are going to see HANCOCK this weekend, starring Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman, I will be watching DVDs of Arrested Development.  Which is about all I want to watch these days.  I've decided it's my Seinfeld.  I could watch every episode over and over, in fact, I do.

Bizarre that the unlikely combo of Theron and Bateman are starring in something together again, no?  But Bateman likes repeat business, a la Cera in Juno.

I wouldn't mind seeing David Cross and CoCo Peru act together again.  (See end of clip above.)

You aren't really going to see Hancock this weekend, are you?

BET AWARDS: NE-YO

The BET Awards are on right now.  Usher opened the show and all I could think was how hard it must be for him to stand up there and perform in front of Chris Brown and Ne-Yo who do Usher so much better than Usher does now.

THEN Ne-Yo comes out with this AMAZING performance (above).  And he does those Michael Jackson rips they ALL do, but with a Disco Beat, as MJ did in his Off The Wall-era heights.

Then Ne-Yo does the obligatory 'walk through the crowd and sing a lyric to a girl' except he sings it to Queen Latifah (AND GIRLFRIEND!?!).  And that's it for PopMuse, s-s-s-sold.  There is no Usher.  Ne-Yo gets it in a way Usher never did.

Ne-Yo will never come out, and that's OK, he sends the message.  He's working on a whole other level.  If Usher is Orlando, Ne-Yo is Paris.  Feel that.  Download the remixes of Ne-Yo's latest below.

...Wait a minute, is that SWV and En Vogue singing with Alicia Keys right now???  I gotta go, if you are missing this award show, you are white, and I pity you.

TiVo... Set

Tivo I've always wanted to do a post like this but never remember to.  So, here's a list of what I just set on my TiVo.  I suggest you do the same...

(In NO Particular Order)

Secret Diary of a Call Girl
Swingtown
(It's super sexy, majorly groundbreaking for CBS and TV in general, plus it's produced by a PopMuse friend.)
Flipping Out
So You Think You Can Dance
(I give in.)
Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (It's a five minute show, and I'm fascinated how that works.)
Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood
Big Girls Blouse
(Why didn't anyone tell me that Kath & Kim were back on Sundance?)
The Critic (Reelz Channel brings this classic cartoon back - hope it's as good as I remember.)
Shear Genius
Design Star
(Bloghungry got me addicted.)
Next Food Network Star
(Sometimes I think if all other TV fell away, we'd be OK with just Food Network.)
Bravo's A-List Awards (I'll fast forward thru it, for sure.)

And that's just in one sitting, can you image?

See Blake Run

So WOW TV has a new show called "See Blake Run".  I totally stumbled on it knowing nothing, but here's the swirl:

Follow the exploits of WOW runner Blake Jacobs as he drives around town sharing his musings, delivering packages and listening to his own personalized party mix.

This kid's a star. The accent, the t-shirts, the beard, the smile.  Oh and the music cues are very clever too.

If PopMuse was working at WOW I'd prob have a crush on Blake, I have a thing for delivery boys - just ask Bloghungry, (did you know he was delivering Pizzas when we met?)  And if that's not enough, the way Blake say "Michael" (see eps 3) would melt me.

And I can relate, PopMuse's first job in LA was as a runner for a game show, and although it was miserable sitting in all that traffic, going to those entertainment industry offices was kind of glamorous.

Haven't you heard? I'm the crazy bitch around here.

Guess what the new saying in my house is?   Love "Gossip Girl" writers.  A lot.

And P.S. get used to PopMuse Video Clips being captured off of my living room TV, it's the new thing and I'm an early adopter, (dramatic pause) ladies.  Plus, it's like creating the fourth wall, which is so 2009.

Cooking With The Hills

If I had to encapsulate all of (my man) Bloghungry's hatred of "The Hills" in a video clip, this would be the one.  In fact if I had to capture all the things Bloghungry dislikes about Los Angeles in a video clip, this would be the one.  This moment is ridic, who doesn't know the words for 'Pots and Pans'?  The ladies on The Hills, that's who.  Watch above or HERE.

AND YES, I'm re-watching the old episodes of The Hills on The N (look deep on your Guide, it's there) and I'm loving every minute of it.  PopMuse misses Elodie and Heidi's old face, bad.

Also, if you know The Hills then you know and love this song...  (thanks Foxy)

Viva Hollywood! -- MUST WATCH TV!!!

OMG, like amazing, AMAZING!  You must watch!  The characters, the competition, the CAMP.  So happy World of Wonder made this show.  Just when you think every facet of entertainment has been exploited reality-style, TELENOVELA! IN-GEN-IOUS!!!

The elimination is like nothing you have seen before.  Well, of course you have seen it before on American Idol (3 judges) and Big Brother (contestants private voting for eliminee - PopMuse LOVES that.)  But this elimination has about 4 steps, all of which are riveting and theatrical and at the end someone dies, yup, "MUERTE" Muthaf*ckers.

And don't get me started on Maria Concita playing every judge on reality TV in one, she must be exhausted!  Especially with all that drinking she's doing; tequila, champagne, this is no Paula Abdul under the table sh*t, she's pounding.  MAJOR.  Tune in PopMuse fans, TUNE IN.

C. Fish watches IKMKAS

Carrie Fisher (the dog) got a haircut yesterday.  Always traumatic for her.  We came home from the groomers and watched an episode of VH1's "I Know My Kid's A Star" (which is a new low in reality TV, so of course, I love it; not "Showbiz Moms & Dads" LOVE it, but love it in a diff way.)

I thought Carrie's reaction to the show was camera worthy (as was her new hairdo), so I pulled out the FLIP and filmed this video.  Little did I know I would capture such a deep moment.  It's heavy stuff, the memories, the anger, the confusion, the circle of life acted out on TV and in her own reality.  The questions, 'Will there always be a domineering parent forcing me to clean up my act?'  It's some powerful video.  So turn up the volume and watch above, or HERE.
