Carrie Fisher (The Person) not legless, but probably on new Pills...

I love how anytime PopMuse fans / friends see Carrie Fisher (the person) on TV, I get e-mails.  Makes me laugh and appreciate the name we gave our dog even more.  Carrie Fisher (the person) did an appearance on The Today Show (above) that has everyone in an uproar, did she lose her legs (no, she is sitting on them), did she gain weight (yes, obviously, but who cares, she's a writer now, she doesn't need to be thin; and I'd guess her bi-polar meds cause some weight gain, as they do...  See Robbie WIlliams song below.)

Carrie Fisher (the dog) can hide her legs too and lord knows her pills made her gain weight, look at her before and after - is crazy.  I personally perfer her chubby and well drugged...  Oh, that goes for dog and person.  I never found Princess Leia that interesting, but this Carrie Fisher - RIVETING!

Drugs are bad.  Drinking and staying up all night for days (weeks?) (months?) in a row is bad.  Bad things happen when you do this. 

The now infamous Britney VMA Performance was beyond sloppy.  It is clear now, she's forgotten why she's doing this.  It's not fun for her anymore.  She's just afraid if she doesn't stay on the work train 'they' won't let her into the club anymore?  When people stop wanting her in their clubs or parties she WILL stop.  But it's gonna get worse before it gets better.  Think Andy Dick.

Britney should have sang George Michael's "Freedom" instead of Alicia Keys.  THAT would have been powerful. Try these lyrics...

Alex Blagg at Best Week Ever Blog just sent this to PopMuse.  And I must agree... "This Video Contains All Of The Reasons Why Our Society Is Doomed".  As Alex wrote, "Today on E!'s "Sunset Tan" this nutjob Hollywood mom takes her 4th grade daughter to the tanning salon (which is funny enough in and of itself), but goes on and on about wanting her to look "just like Lindsay Lohan" while the E! crawl on the bottom of the screen displays the Lohan arrest/coke story AT THE SAME TIME. The result is, as they say, priceless." Priceless indeed... watch above.

And I just want to make sure you've all seen Britney Spears Latest Open Letter to her fans.  It is a reason to learn how to read, seriously. 

As PopMuse friend MRS wrote me earlier:  "It's a sermon! She better start putting this together as a one-woman show immediately. If she performed this at the House of Blues, I'd fall in love with her all over again. "Being in that vulnerable state and taken to dinners and parties with friends and finding out later you paid for everything was a huge learning lesson for me."  Who knew she was so cheap?

Britney Shaves Head in Valley

Britney left a Caribbean rehab clinic after only 24 hours, flew back to LA (in coach) on American Airlines, landed and drove straight to Tarzana (?) stopped at a hair salon, aggressively shaved her own head, then went to Sherman Oaks to get a few tattoos, lips and a cross.  When asked about her new haircut she said "I don't want anyone touching me. I'm tired of everyone touching me."

Oh.
No.

I thought it was just blow and drinking, but driving to the valley straight from the airport indicates something a little more, um, serious?

It gets worse, Britney's Ex-Assistant sent a letter to Brit's ex-fansite webmaster Reuben, READ IT, it seems as if this downward spiral may in fact get worse.  Sad. 

Excerpt below:
There’s just so much you can do to help a person-I don’t dare want to be an enabler, and I cannot love her enough for the both of us. I cannot convince her in ANY way to love herself. All I can do is be a friend, someone that loved her for MANY years unconditionally, and PRAY. That, I have decided is the most and best I can do for my friend. I cannot save her from herself, nor can I commit her to any type of treatment program against her wishes and will. I am throwing my hands up and realizing that I am helpless over another-ANYONE!
It’s been a hard reality for me to face. I have lived my best example daily, and that is ALL I’m capable of. To see what’s transpiring now, makes me feel a failure, defeated. I LOVED and BELIEVED in what I was a part of for the past 10 years and was so incredibly proud of Britney and all she’d become.
All that to say this Ruben–I’m so Southern, and the BEST way for me to tell you how I feel is to say-You can just kick an old Dog so many times before he gets off the porch. I, FELICIA, am OFF the porch!!

Daniel is the Father

Seems like everyone I speak with has an Anna Nicole theory.  With the amount of drugs she was doing (have you been reading TMZ, holy shit, what pregnant woman does Demerol and Methadone???) anything is possible.  But the latest buzz in Hellwood is that Daniel (her son) is the father of her daughter  Danielynn.  And with that many drugs floating around in that family, it's entirely possible.  When the room gets that cracky, all bets are off.

Britney filed for divorce from K-Fed.  Yup TMZ reports, she has filed the papers and hired the attorney.  Funny, K-Fed was on Tyra but 2 days ago claiming he'd be with Britney for the rest of his life, ooops.  Must be divorce season, Reese and Ryan, Whitney & Bobby, Chris Rock...  Yadda blah. 

It's a good thing Britney's done with her Sean Penn Phase.  Now let's pray for her Like A Prayer Phase, ya know? 

Watch Britney's guest Appearance on Dave Letterman last night.  She doesn't look too devastated to me.

I'm sure you've read the latest on Whitney Houston right?  Well, Bobby's sister (Whitney's previous crack buddy) outed Whitney's EXCESSIVE crack use to the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.  The highlights...
- Cracky spends days locked in her bedroom amid piles of garbage, taking drugs and using sex toys.
- Cracky's so paranoid she sees evil apparitions and once drilled a spy-hole in her bathroom to look for 'demons'.
- Cracky beats herself till black and blue, then blames bruises on said demons.

PopMuse operatives have confirmed that Jack Black and Laura Kightlinger have split-up.  Black has been seen canoodling around town (including the Tenacious D. Movie Wrap Party) with a new unidentified pretty young thing. 

I've always thought Laura Kightlinger was hysterical (seeing her name in the credits of Will & Grace was just about the only funny thing on that show.)  And I always felt the two of them made a cute anti-Hollywood, Hollywood couple.  I guess, not so much?

I wonder if Mike White is behind all this.  History Lesson:  White and Kight were roomies who lived next door to Black in their Salad Days.  White wrote a few of Black's Flix (Orange County, School of Rock.)  They all rose to big commercial success together, blah blah...

Have I ever told you about the time White came onto me at the Virgin Megastore Bathroom?  I know, I know, who didn't he come onto in that bathroom?  T-rash!

Jann Wenner Media

One summer, many many years ago, I worked as a college intern at Wenner Media, home of Rolling Stone Magazine, US Weekly, and Men's Journal.  I was working in the Events Department (with best friend SG).  We were interns du jour, lauded for our abilities to find the hottest restaurants, give fashion advice, and act bitchy (all essentials in the Events Planning Biz).  This was long before Wenner came out of the closet with one of Calvin's boys, turned Rolling Stone into a mess and made US Weekly FAB-U-LOUS!  Anyway, there are all kinds of stories about Wenner these day.  From his new Reality Show on MTV to his anal retentive office desk investigations. 

All fascinating stuff...  BUT when me and SG were working at Wenner Media the most scandalous thing we saw was...  One night, working late, we witnessed JFK Jr. and Andrew Shue (remember him???) enter Wenner's office for a closed door meeting supposedly for some random charity called "Do Something" (so 90's).  Anyway, we could not stop walking past the door hoping to hear something (spanking, moaning, charity work... anything!)  But there was nothing but silence, which was telling enough, if you know what I mean.  Hours later the 2 guests left Wenner's office and we began telling everyone in the intern area what was happening...  Until one of the exterior office chicks pulled us aside and told us to shut it and shut it fast.  We did and that was that.

We know what Jann's up to these days, we know what JFK Jr.'s up to (or not up to), but what about Shue?  Well, he's Kicking balls for a big comeback.

Independent Sources announced today that it has
uncovered a new, previously undiscovered Tom Cruise
rumor: Tom Cruise and Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas are
lovers!

No doubt that anyone with an Internet connection has
read about Tom Cruise being gay. According to rumor
lore, he has had a long-time boyfriend in Chicago who
is an Asian pilot for American Airlines. This is an
accusation that Cruise and more importantly Cruise's
many attorneys vehemently deny.

There have been many stories that supposedly
corroborate his sexuality but never a smoking gun.
Rumor mongers attribute this to the fact that Cruise
goes to great lengths to cover his tracks. We are told
that everyone around him signs extensive
confidentiality contracts with enormous penalties for
indiscretion. (Exhibit A: the 8-page confidentiality
contract Cruise's housekeeper was forced to sign).

Such stories have been around for years and Cruise has
evidently attempted to counter them with a series of
high profile heteronormative relationships. First,
Nicole Kidman, then Penelope Cruz, and most recently
Katie Holmes. In each instance, the "relationship" is
actually a contract that gives the women a boost to
their careers, a lot of money, and an elegant
lifestyle.

Here is where this particular rumor gets interesting.
Not long ago, Marisol, the wife of Matchbox Twenty's
Rob Thomas (who has had to contend with his own rumors
of bi-sexuality) found her husband in bed with Tom
Cruise causing Cruise's people to shift into high
gear.

First, Mrs. Rob Thomas was bought off for an
undetermined sum. Second, Cruise and his handlers set
out to immediately find Cruise a girlfriend.
Second-tier actresses were targeted. A list was drawn
up with Jessica Alba (#1 pick) and three other girls who
fell out for various reasons. Originally targeted (#3
I think) but later rejected as "undesirable" was rumor
queen Lindsay Lohan. Way down at #5 on the list was
Katie Holmes, but that was the one with whom they were
able to strike a deal.

Once the contact was signed, photo ops were set up,
leaks were made to the right places, and we've had
celebrity relationship on steroids ever since.

One thing I will credit this rumor for is how it
nicely explains Tom's behavior this past few
months-including the couch jumping episode on Oprah.
Cruise simply didn't have time for the Holmes rumors
to circulate at its normal speed and he couldn't allow it
to be second page news while the tabloids focused on
Brad, Jennifer and Angelina.

No, this relationship had to immediately become the
"it" topic. Well, that's how we hear it.
