E3 AND Me

I spent the last few days at E3, the world's largest video game conference (for the day job).  It was quite a spectacle, sadly all of it was lost on me as I know nothing about video games, NOTHING!  I didn't play them as a kid (opting for 2 turntables and a microphone over Coleco, Sega, and Atari) and I don't play them as an adult. 

But from an outsider's perspective the whole thing was pretty fascinating.  It was a massive convention center filled with 18-34 year old straight males (you could count the women on one hand) floating around like zombies possessed by the bright lights and irritating music that came at you from every direction.  Anyway, the big news story there was Nintendo's new system Wii.  Which of course brought to mind a clip from the PopMuse Video Archives. 

Check out this 1989 Nintendo Commercial and tell me if you aren't seeing some similarities to their 'new' system.  And PopMuse sings 'just another case of history repeating..."

On my first official date with Woo, we discussed our mutual MSCL obsession.  I  revealed to him that on a lonely Saturday Night I bought the My So-Called DVD Box Set.  Later as a way of Wooing Woo (back to my apt.) I told him he could borrow the DVDs.  Maybe I had a feeling I'd never have a lonely night again...  OH SHIT, I am Sharon!
