Don't Disturb This Groove / Bit By Bit

Just watched "Cop Out" at Bad Movie Night.  Ya know the Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan, Adam Brody, Kevin Pollack, Sean Will Scott, Guillermo Diaz, Salma Hayek-wannabe starring and Kevin Smith directed turd of a movie. 

The one interesting element of this movie was the score, which was lifted from the score of Beverly Hills Cop and Fletch.  And the loads of strange 80s music cues throughout.  Favorite of which was this one above.  Second of which was this MAJOR JAM by Stephanie Mills...

Go See: The Back-Up Plan

You need to go see The Back-Up Plan this weekend.  An F.O.P. (Friend Of PopMuse) directed it and even though I haven't seen it yet (look, it's hard to get out da house when you have a baby) I know it's going to be WONDERFUL and the perfect thing for you to do this weekend.

Think about it, the filmmaker loves PopMuse, you love PopMuse, therefore, you are going to LOVE THIS MOVIE.  Just go buy a ticket already, it's J. Lo being cute, just the way you like her.

That's all folks.  My work here is done.  Tyler has just blown what was left of my mind and I am left speechless by his awesomeness. 

Oh not this is not about Janet or Mariah, or even Whoopi, this is about... LORETTA "Lil Shit" DEVINE and PHYLICIA (check the spelling bitches) "I'm gonna scare you AWAY from eating Jenny Craig by my CRAZY ASS commercials" RASHAD. 

The only thing that could make this film better would be if the ghost of Pepper Labeija wrote the script.

While, there the ever-reliable outlet nabbed an exclusive from Perry regarding his latest movie – ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf (Editor: Yes, that really is the title).

"A Single Man" Tom Ford's Movie Trailer

Well, WOW! 

Okay, so when I first heard T. Ford was going to reinvent himself as a Big Hollywood Directahhh I thought, just what Hollywood needs.  But apparently he IS just what Hollywood needs.  This is one seriously stylish trailer.  Great cast, fashion, cinematography, editing, sound design, storyline looks um, right up his alley.  (Not gonna lie, seeing Julianne Moore does bring up memories of "Far From Heaven" but there are worse things.)  Happy for him, this looks really promising.

I Can Do Bad All By Myself

The best living filmmaker strikes AGAIN!  Mary J. and Taraji P. in a film together?  "BLOGHUNGRY, CALL THE BABYSITTER!!!"  

But wait, where is this Mary track?  Why isn't it Mary's lead single from her new CD?  Confused.  Does anyone have this mp3?  I need it.  Is too hot for words.

Sixteen Candles - Final Scene - Movie Ending - Watch more funny videos here

So sad.  PopMuse could never write enough about how his films contributed to the man I am today. 

Of all the legendary music cues he used in his films and oh man are there many, (the Sixteen Candles Soundtrack is perfection see link at bottom of this post, HELLO first person to break WHAM! in the US?!?)  It's this cue (link below this paragraph) from The Dream Academy that is my all-time favorite.  A few years back I went on the hunt for the instrumental Hughes used in Ferris Bueller and found it.  It's Downloadable here...

Finding all 21 music cues from Sixteen Candles (even the ones not included on the long out-of-print soundtrack) was another major mission, I thought this was a nice occasion to share that too.  Enjoy!

SIXTEEN CANDLES FULL SOUNDTRACK

Funny People - Really, you wouldn't know it from the poster.

LA is a city of billboards and street teams.  As you drive through this city you are bombarded with whatever the latest Studio release is.  You start to get numb to all the hard sales thrust in your face, but this poster is getting so much lip-service in my household.  It is a true puzzler.  And Bloghungry and PopMuse can't solve it. 

What is Universal trying to say with this image.  I know what this movie is about (besides the end of Judd Aptow's career) it's a rom-dram-edy right?  So what the hell is this poster supposed to be.  Selling me off the star power?  Love Leslie Mann, (she is the best thing about every movie she is in) but she is not nearly a big enough star to sell a film. 

Is it trying to win an audience with a latent bi-sexual Adam Sandler bromance theme?  What is this, Threesome 2009?

Bloghungry thinks this is just Adam Sandler trying to destroy the competition.  End that whole Aptow / Rogen phenom.  He's probably right, that angle and pose for Seth Rogen is just plan cruel.  Thoughts?

Away We Go

Such a sweet movie.  We took a break from assembling Baby Furniture this past weekend to see it.  The film was beautiful and we could totally relate to this couple.  Even if you hate babies and pregnancy and comics doing twee dramas, you'll still enjoy it, I promise.

It's BABY BABY BABY for us these days, and we both love it.  Our place has never felt so complete as it does with all this baby stuff everywhere.  Awwww, I know.  I think we are ready (2 weeks left - we better be!)  Now I just worry about silly things like, what the first song I will play for Lily will be.  I mean if you could dictate what the very first song someone hears in their life on earth would be, what would you play???  That's a big DJ challenge, right there.  And NO, I won't be holding a boombox during the birth with my finger on the play button (or will I?)

Troop Bev Hills (2)?

I hate to give away ideas like this for free, I really do, and I swore I wouldn't do it anymore, but it is too early to think clearly and I'm feeling very giving...  How about you remake "Troop Beverly Hills"?  A 2010 version where the sexy 2nd wife wins over the heart of her step daughter with her Troop Leader skills?  I'm not sure where, but there is definitely a place for Tori Spelling in the cast.  Huh, huh takers? 

This song (above) must stay intact, I insist on that, it's a deal-breaker. PopMuse will take his name off of this suggestion if "Cookie Time" is altered.

14 Things about "She's Just Not That Into You"

Oh man.  What a piece of shit (slash) I would eat a Tuna Sandwich while watching it on HBO any day of the week and love every second of it.  (Know your PopMuse.)  

1.  Why was Drew Barrymore in it?  What did her character add to any story line?
2.  I know it was filmed like 5 years ago, but before Ben Affleck had his teeth done?  Wow.
3. Why was the sound mix so poor, what was going on there?  The whole movie sounded soft and murky.
4. Friend o' PopMuse, Nilblogette, has a thing about Movie and TV Interiors with Exposed Brick, mainly that she doesn't like them.  This film had nothing but interiors with exposed brick.
5.  Does Baltimore have a fashion forward singles scene?  Never thought of Baltimore in that way.
6.  Justin Long is a major Movie Star.
7.  Bradley Cooper is not.
8.  I'm happy this film killed Jennifer Connelly's career - she is too brittle to act anymore.
9.  Anniston's hair is a huge star but she isn't.
10.  I dont mind that Affleck's weight drastically changes scene to scene - but I like him pretty universally.
11.  Ginnifer Goodwin may have been wearing a wig in some scenes that were probably re-shoots.  Wig or not, she is fun to watch.
12.  This film needed to be 2 hours Plus?  Really?
13.  Wilson Cruz needs a better agent.  Badly.
14.  Didn't it feel like the Director just gave up.

Reason To Live: Irreconcilable Differences on DVD

Well here's a reason to stay alive until April 14th.  FINALLY the Shelly Long classic Irreconcilable Differences is coming out on DVD.  PopMuse has been waiting, yes, waiting for this moment for years.  I love this film, it's like everything you want in a movie and more. 

Sharon Stone in a breakout performance as Farrah Fawcett, Ryan O'Neil when he was kinda hot, Nancy Meyers is a co-writer (of a script about a writer), Shelly Long in a fat suit buying ice cream in an empty Grocery Store on New Years Eve.  Oh yeah and Drew Barrymore basically living out her future childhood on film (or is she acting out Tatum O'Neil's childhood?  Either way, it's so meta, it hurts to think about.)  It's completely amazing.  You must buy it.

Kudos to Lionsgate for doing this "The Lost Collection DVD Series".
