PopMuse.com is 3 YEARS OLD today. I've never mentioned blog birthdays before because, well, who really cares? But since I've got nothing else to say, I thought I would mention it.
Being the PopMuse has provided many surprises and infinite enjoyment, seriously folks.
Over the years PopMuse has been many things to many people. We've covered gossip, trends, vintage videos, current vid clips, music downloads, personal revelations, blah blah and boom boom... It has been a place for me to share my musings of the moment. And I thank you, my faithful readers, for hanging out at my water cooler.
In honor of PopMuse.com's B-Day I wanted to link some old posts that have received bizarre or noteworthy comments. Because without you, PopMuse is... you know.
Who knew a Gay Joke about Jared Leto would turn into all this.
Or that 90's Female White Raptress MISA would illicit an email from the lady herself.
Or that Nolan Thomas' Mother would come to his "Yo Little Brother" defense.
Or that Madonna fans and haters would feel so passionately about "Super Pop".
Or that Carrie Fisher (the human) would find Carrie Fisher (the dog).
Thanks for reading!
Yours,
PopMuse
Nilblogette sent me this picture of Elliot Mintz today and it is haunting my soul. Mintz is a celebrity "Press Representative" who has worked for John & Yoko, Christie Brinkley, Don Johnson, Bob Dylan, and most recently Paris Hilton. Why do I suddenly hear Michael Jackson singing "Keep it in the closet! (Swack) Doo Dip Doo Dip Dooo...".
Anyway, the pic, from Paris' B-Day Party last night... Well, it looks like Mintz had a facial peel and thought he could cover up his raw pink skin with orange bronzer. I think it was successful, no. Terrifying.

It is with great pleasure that I let you children know, you can finally buy your very own copy of RuPaul's New Feature Length Film Extravaganza "Starrbooty".
WATCH the Trailer above... "Hotter than a crack pipe on pay day." Amazing!
RuPaul says: "The goal here was to make an exploitation film that was part Russ Meyer, John Waters and "The Naked Gun" and we succeeded." Amazing!
While discussing the new Shirley Bassey CD (amazing by the way) with ol' friend SG, he suggested Shirley remake the Soundtrack for "The Bodyguard" as her next CD. I suggested she remake the movie too and play all the roles like Norbit meets Victor Victoria. And then SG sent me this youtube clip (above) and everything stopped. Meet WONDER ROBBIE.
This is the kind of youtube star that makes me love america, love youtube, and love life. OK, now watch the below clip. The video effects alone should win this kid a Nobel Peace Prize. Is that a futon in the background? Is he wearing a unicorn t-shirt? Is that film grain? Is he doing leg stretches? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Worship.
Alex Blagg at Best Week Ever Blog just sent this to PopMuse. And I must agree... "This Video Contains All Of The Reasons Why Our Society Is Doomed". As Alex wrote, "Today on E!'s "Sunset Tan" this nutjob Hollywood mom takes her 4th grade daughter to the tanning salon (which is funny enough in and of itself), but goes on and on about wanting her to look "just like Lindsay Lohan" while the E! crawl on the bottom of the screen displays the Lohan arrest/coke story AT THE SAME TIME. The result is, as they say, priceless." Priceless indeed... watch above.
And I just want to make sure you've all seen Britney Spears Latest Open Letter to her fans. It is a reason to learn how to read, seriously.
As PopMuse friend MRS wrote me earlier: "It's a sermon! She better start putting this together as a one-woman show immediately. If she performed this at the House of Blues, I'd fall in love with her all over again. "Being in that vulnerable state and taken to dinners and parties with friends and finding out later you paid for everything was a huge learning lesson for me." Who knew she was so cheap?
There are days when the WOW Report just turns me out completely. THIS POST with these two youtube clips is simply beyond beyond, (and perfectly suited for the WOW Report.)
What I love about these 2 clips is not just the ruling queens in them, but the breathtaking choreography, both are so intricate, retro yet modern. Praise.
AND Don't forget to watch the latest WOW Podcast on WOW TV to find out what Ex-Madonna Dancer Luis is up to these days.
I got this compilation CD "Vogue Presents Karl Lagerfeld: Les Musiques" a few months back, and finally took a listen today. At first glance I thought it couldn't have been selections from Lady Karl himself (even though it is dubbed 'My Favorite Songs') but the mix is so uber-chic, I think it might be truly his playlist.
Here are two tracks that are blowing my mind. It's hard to describe the sound, I guess I'll call it "Electrochic". The first track is from Norwegian Moroder-esque disco duo Lindstrom and Prins Thomas. And the second track is a cover of Kylie's "Slow" (a PopMuse fav).
LISTEN: Lindstrom and Prins Thomas "Mighty Girl" [mp3]
LISTEN: Aguayo "Slow" [mp3]

Are you watching TOP DESIGN? Seems like everyone is complaining about Todd Oldham's lack of hosting abilities. I agree, but I'm more bothered by the way he looks. I can't put my finger on it but something is very wrong. Bronzer, Botox, new Veneers, whassup?
Take a look at this clip above from 1993, it's Todd Time on MTV's House Of Style. A green haired Todd hangs with newly ex-New Yorker Debi Mazar in LA . Ahh, 1993.
