So I was IM'ing with PopMuse buddy MRS earlier today about life and whatnot; and he sent me this clip of Candis Cayne performing in New York.  Part of her show takes place out in the street.  Watch above.  It's amazing performance art, as MRS said, 'so simple yet so brilliant.'

Few hours later this clip (below) appears on World Of Wonder...  Both clips are sick.  The one below is like straight out of my dreams, or a Bloghungry Movie Pitch...  Whatever, watch both, and acknowledge: the street as a stage is back and PopMuse likes that.

Troop Bev Hills (2)?

I hate to give away ideas like this for free, I really do, and I swore I wouldn't do it anymore, but it is too early to think clearly and I'm feeling very giving...  How about you remake "Troop Beverly Hills"?  A 2010 version where the sexy 2nd wife wins over the heart of her step daughter with her Troop Leader skills?  I'm not sure where, but there is definitely a place for Tori Spelling in the cast.  Huh, huh takers? 

This song (above) must stay intact, I insist on that, it's a deal-breaker. PopMuse will take his name off of this suggestion if "Cookie Time" is altered.

I'm back home from Austin and it feels great!  Even if Carrie is snubbing me for leaving her, Bloghungry's tradition of making me a quiche every time I come home from a trip is making up for it.

They are promoting the hell out of this new No Doubt Tour here in Southern California (6 shows?), and this morning they were showing clips from this video (above) on some promo on Local TV. 

NOTE.
This video completely stands up stylistically in 2009.  It is insanely beautiful.  I remember when this team of Sophie Muller (director), Gwen, Fatima, that graphics house (can't remember their name now - sorry) and stylist (was it Arianna Phillips at this point?) were converging on this clip.  It was like a female music video talent explosion.  Love how the rose heart is above the bed at the end, such smart art direction.  They don't make vids like this anymore and that truly saddens me. 

And that lyric, "You give me the most gorgeous sleep that I've ever had."  Divine.

SXSW Part 2 -- The Wong Boys

I am here for the Film Festival part of SXSW (for work.)  Sadly, I won't be experiencing the Music Fest that follows Film, but I think I'll have one night of overlap, so I'm gonna try and run around and see some shows before my flight outta Austin. 

The SXSW Website is a great way to research the bands that are playing here and they offer tons of free Downloads of the performing bands.  I found The Wong Boys yesterday and may go see them Wednesday, what do you think?  I love that they are from Denmark (a good sign), and this dirt nasty song (below), but is this going to be a big ol' American Apparel Commercial?  Even if it's a hipster parade, I'll probably get a good laugh in.  Check them out...

SXSW 2009: Part 1

That picture there, is what I like to call a 'Hotel Self Portrait'.  This is what you do with a pretty hotel view and no one to share it with.  (Lonely PopMuse.) 

I'm in Austin Texas at South By Southwest.  Super busy working (for day job, not blog) so it's hard to even remember that I am The PopMuse, let alone post to The PopMuse.  But I want to say 'Hi' and I will try and update you on something fun from here if I have the chance?

OK here's something.  Paul Rudd is actually that nice, yes, that nice.  Jason Segel is a weird weird dude and apparently it's been reported that he's on all kinds of psychotopic drugs...  Very interesting, in films you'd never know, but in person, something is off.  Funny guy though, very very funny.  Is it me or is Bromance and bromantic Comedies getting a little tired.  Glad they are finally making the kind where they just screw at the end already, well at least here at SXSW they are...

It's Boom Boom time again kids.  Here's this weeks collection of Boom Boom Dance Mixes I've found from around the web.  I search those music blogs, listen to everything and hand pick my absolute favs to bring to you children.  Giving you the music to keep you movin'.  PopMuse is in a mood, can you tell I've been trapped in hell for a week now?

Agnes "Release Me" (La Rush Club Mix) I was shocked by how much you all loved this jam on my last mix.  I mean I love it too, but people really flipped out over it.  Here's another mix.

Pink "I Don't Believe You" (Aleko's Radio Edit)  You don't even know what is gonna happen when you hear this, your whole outlook on Pink, no, shit, outlook on life, is gonna change.

Kelly Clarkson "My Life Would Suck Without You" (Chriss Ortega Club Mix)  This is the best mix I've heard so far, and I love the original, so yeah, here.

Beyonce "Diva" (Mr. Mig Club Mix)  A DiVa is a female version of a hustla, of a, of a hustlaaaa.  (Getting into it, getting in to it KIDS!!!)

Brick & Lace "Bad To Di Bone" (Digital Dog Remix)  Don't know anything about these Pop-Reggaeton Ladies, and it sounds like everything else the Digital Dogs do, but I LOVE it.

Chicane VS Natasha Bedingfield "Bruised Water" Original Club  This is gorgeous, totally amazing.  I love the Chicane song being sampled, and as always, Natasha mixes up perfectly.

RuPaul "Cover Girl" (Macutchi's Taterz DeeP)   I think this is my fav of the "Cover Girl" Mixes.  But it's Ru's world right now, PopMuse just living in it!  BUY CHAMPION ALREADY!!!

Markus Gardeweg ft Michael Feiner "Fairplay (Let There Be Love)" (Club Mix)  I know you don't know this artist and the song is not familiar, but this is the hottest shit I've heard from an unknown in ages.   And no, I dont even mind the sentimental lyrics, and corny Coldplay piano, at ALL.

BJARNE'S CONTINUOUS MIX:  As usual the amazing Bjarne from Norway returned from a vacation in the Alps just in time to do a FIERCE continuous mix of these Boom Boom selections.  I'm so proud to post his mixes here on PopMuse are so spot on!  I mean, I want to cry at the run from Kelly to Ru, and the treatment of Pink to Nat!!!  It's all too much!!!  You're gonna lose it!

Construction Worker

This song is my life right now.  I think there is a chance it will all be done tomorrow (he said confidently.)  I so want to have my home back, you have no idea. 

The guitarist from the above band was in my construction area of a home this weekend (actually in my bedroom, as it is the only place to sit.)  Don't get crazy, he is the boyfriend of a friend of mine, she was there too.  They just moved from Toronto to LA...  Anyway, I hum this song all day while these mean men destroy (and hopefully improve) my home.

Stars - Your Ex-Lover is Dead (2004)

Back in 2004 this STARS song saved my life.  It popped on my iTunes yesterday and kinda pulled me back into that head space.  (Wasn't the only thing...)  Reminded me of how we shatter things, sometimes, when they are too perfect, and how necessary that awful habit is, because NOTHING is perfect - NOTHING.

Soundproof / Moodulation

So I'm having a little Pre-Parenthood Panic.  This one is coming in the form of... I NEED to Soundproof the walls of our condo to lock in the forthcoming Baby Crying and lock out the current and continuous S&M Hooker Moans from next door (not kidding, being literal for once).  Ahhh the joys of West Hollywood living.

Anyway, some might call it nesting, but it feels like obsessing to me.

A construction crew has been here and will continue to be here for days.  Destroying walls, adding soundproofing and re-building and making lots of noise.  The walls of my home have been torn down and are being rebuilt (symbolism is not lost.)

There is one thing that has been keeping me calm (sort of) and that is the new mix by Loft 965.  It's a mellow chill mix 'a red wine mix' as Loftie calls it, and it's pretty darn great!  You should d'load and listen to it.
