Beyonce "Halo" Mixes

I've spent the morning listening (and 'lip-synching for my life') to each of these new mixes for Beyonce's "Halo" and I just can't decide which is my favorite, so I'm gonna post all of them.  Just like "Diva", this isn't my fav Beyonce moment, I think it would have made a great single for Pink, but I don't need Ryan Tedder writing his Evanescence-ish ballads for Beyonce, sorry, I just don't.

That said, the remixes are pretty. damn. hot.  So... Here ya go.  

Beyonce - Halo (Lost Daze Club Mix)  Prob my favorite.  Has some Optimism in it, where the other don't.

Beyonce - Halo (Karmatronic Club Mix)  Misses the mark, but comes so close!  Doesn't take shape as a Chicane-wanna-be trance mix till the last 3 minutes.  Worth listening too though.

Beyonce - Halo (Gomi & RasJek Club Mix)  Look, I LOVES ME SOME GOMI!  And this mix starts all pop and fun, then suddenly descends in to sad minor messiness.  (Is it me or do NYC-DJs churn out the darkest shit in the winter, LIGHTEN UP BITCHES!)  That said, this would probably kill at After-Hours when everyone was so wasted they could barely stand let alone dance.  If you are into that kind of thing.

Beyonce - Halo (Dave Aude Club Mix)  Slammin' for an Afternoon Lunchtime Dance Mix on Top 40 Radio.  That's what Aude delivers everytime, (you Club DV8 fans should send him flowers.)  Or maybe I should?  BUT the Mix is still too downer for me, again, Lighten UP!

Beyonce - Halo (Red Soul Club Mix)  This is the most random one of them all, it wants to be a laid-back Maurice Joshua Mix, but they sped up the vocal so it just fails.  A Dub Mix of it on a Sunday morning would be cute though.

PopMuse 5th Anniversary

5 years ago today I did my first PopMuse Blog Post.  Crazy right?  That pic was my first PopMuse About Pic.  It was taken by BH after one of our first overnights - and I still love it.  BUT DAMN do I look different now; older, thicker (you try living with Bloghungry and not gaining weight), more crinkled... Alas, time is like a clock in my heart.

I could go on and on about how much you all mean to me, (for reading this blog) and what it's meant to me to have this little hobby to fill my free time.  How much fun it has been to meet some of you digitally and physically.  How it's been a pleasure to promote artists and art I love...  Or how much shit I used to take for having a Blog ('How do you have the time?') and now ALL OF YOU have your little Facebook pages, you are complete slaves to.  But I won't.  (Or did I?)

Instead, I'll give you a little piece of PopMuse Trivia.  Want to know the most viewed post EVER on PopMuse?  It's some stupid Vid Clip I posted back in 2006 called "Jared Leto Gay Sex Tape".  I get tons of hits on this post every single day, and the strangest comments too.  Who knew Jared Leto even had this many fans?  Isn't that strange?  Who are all these people googling "Jared Leto Gay Sex Tape"?  And how do these readers not know this is a clip from some stupid bad movie he did - if sex tapes looked like this??? 

Of all the mysteries on PopMuse, and there have been many, this one stumps me the most.

Anyway, suggestion to all those new bloggers out there, post on Jared Leto + Sex + Gay, and it'll get you those viewers you want.

Boom Boom Blog 2-24-09 (PopMuse 5th Anniversary Supersized Edition)

It's been a little club club boom boom crazy on PopMuse lately, (so if you hate this dance remix stuff - sorry!)  I've been stashing away some Boom Boom favorites for this week as it's PopMuse's 5th Anniversary of blogging and these Boom Boom Posts have become such a big part of PopMuse and all, I wanted this week to be extra special...

Deborah Cox - Beautiful U R (Soulseekerz Mix)  I was hoping for something a little less Circuit and a little more happy house for this vocal and lyric, but some of you will like it, so here ya go...

RuPaul - Cover Girl (Joe Gauthreaux Runway Anthem)  Ru is just killing it these days.  We watch the Logo show like twice a week in my home, quote it daily and his latest single's mixes have charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.  Here's the first of a few I'll be posting over the next few weeks.

Britney Spears - Circus (Linus Loves Mix)  This track isn't getting nearly enough attention (except here).  Is no wonder she is back to releasing songs about being a hooker, seems like that is all you kids want from her.

Pink - Please Don't Leave Me (Junior Vasquez Tribal Dub)  What is going on with Pink's "Funhouse"?  Too many marketing mistakes and just done, finished?  I'll hold on a little longer for you kids.

Simply Red - Go Now (Triple Dee Club Remix)  I've always enjoyed a Simply Red Remix.  He gets that timeless Ibiza outdoor Nikki Beach Club sound right every time.

Solange -T.O.N.Y. (Mark Picchiotti Mix)  Yeah Solange!  More remixes from your amazing CD please!

Beyonce- Diva (DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio mix)  I could live without this track in all it's forms, but I do enjoy moments of this mix for sure.

Mary Mary - God In Me (Dave Audé Extended Club Remix)  You could ALL use a little gospel house in your lives.  And this is about as good as you're gonna get.

Jennifer Hudson - If This Isn't Love (StoneBridge Remix)  I've had this for months and not known what to do with it.  I feel like Stonebridge missed the sweetness of this vocal and went for some minor key darkness, but I know you all want J. Hud right now, so here...

Anastacia - Absolutely Positively (Moto Blanco Club Mix)  I know this was on the last Bjarne Mix, but I thought some of you may want the whole track isolated for your collections.

14 Things about "She's Just Not That Into You"

Oh man.  What a piece of shit (slash) I would eat a Tuna Sandwich while watching it on HBO any day of the week and love every second of it.  (Know your PopMuse.)  

1.  Why was Drew Barrymore in it?  What did her character add to any story line?
2.  I know it was filmed like 5 years ago, but before Ben Affleck had his teeth done?  Wow.
3. Why was the sound mix so poor, what was going on there?  The whole movie sounded soft and murky.
4. Friend o' PopMuse, Nilblogette, has a thing about Movie and TV Interiors with Exposed Brick, mainly that she doesn't like them.  This film had nothing but interiors with exposed brick.
5.  Does Baltimore have a fashion forward singles scene?  Never thought of Baltimore in that way.
6.  Justin Long is a major Movie Star.
7.  Bradley Cooper is not.
8.  I'm happy this film killed Jennifer Connelly's career - she is too brittle to act anymore.
9.  Anniston's hair is a huge star but she isn't.
10.  I dont mind that Affleck's weight drastically changes scene to scene - but I like him pretty universally.
11.  Ginnifer Goodwin may have been wearing a wig in some scenes that were probably re-shoots.  Wig or not, she is fun to watch.
12.  This film needed to be 2 hours Plus?  Really?
13.  Wilson Cruz needs a better agent.  Badly.
14.  Didn't it feel like the Director just gave up.

PopMuse and Bloghungry's Girl

Hey PopMuser's...  Sorry I haven't posted in a minute.  PopMuse and Bloghungry were visiting our Surrogate and her family.  In case you missed it from Christmas time... We're Pregnant!  And this weekend we flew to be with our Surrogate, and attend an Ultrasound, the one where you find out "Boy or Girl" and...  It's a Girl!

Was pretty amazing stuff. 

I haven't really figured out how to discuss this topic on PopMuse, so if you have questions feel free to ask, but there are some privacy issues we have to be careful of for others involved in this process with us, so like Denise Richards, It's Complicated.  Our baby girl is due in July and trust-a-trust once she is home with us you'll get lots of video and photos.

I did this little youtube video of the ultrasound which I'm totally not supposed to post on here, but I really wanted to share it with you.  I'll prob pull it down soon, so watch it while you can.

Reason To Live: Irreconcilable Differences on DVD

Well here's a reason to stay alive until April 14th.  FINALLY the Shelly Long classic Irreconcilable Differences is coming out on DVD.  PopMuse has been waiting, yes, waiting for this moment for years.  I love this film, it's like everything you want in a movie and more. 

Sharon Stone in a breakout performance as Farrah Fawcett, Ryan O'Neil when he was kinda hot, Nancy Meyers is a co-writer (of a script about a writer), Shelly Long in a fat suit buying ice cream in an empty Grocery Store on New Years Eve.  Oh yeah and Drew Barrymore basically living out her future childhood on film (or is she acting out Tatum O'Neil's childhood?  Either way, it's so meta, it hurts to think about.)  It's completely amazing.  You must buy it.

Kudos to Lionsgate for doing this "The Lost Collection DVD Series".

Grammys 2009

Eh, me and award shows are kinda dunzo, but I know you all want PopMuse's take on 'em, so here goes...

Well the shocker of the night was word from TMZ that Chris Brown was turning himself in to the LAPD for pistol whipping and biting Rihanna on a street in Hancock Park at Midnight after leaving Pre-Grammy Clive Davis Party.  What were they serving at Clive Davis' Party, and does it explain Whitney's swollen tongue at the Grammys?

U2, hate this new song, but loved their performance.  J. Hud, glad she won and sung a pretty gospel ballad.  Miley and Taylor, well I asked for it acoustic and I got it.  Starting to understand the T. Swift phenom, slowly. 

Stevie Wonder and Jonas B's duet was too uncomfortable for words, thankfully Stevie can't see them writhing around him, sadly we can.  I would do anything to get Chris Martin to stop jumping around on stage the way he does - that epileptic dancing makes him look like an idiot and it makes him incapable of hitting a note, any note really, he just heaves air.

Very happy Adele won - but why did they make her sing with Sugarland - where was her management to put that idea down?  Why is Kayne West trying to look like Ray Parker Jr.?  You Katy Perry fans need to take a good hard look in the mirror.  If you pull Perez out of her celebrity, there is NOTHING there.  Kenny Chesney and Morgan Freeman are friends?  Interesting how all the Rap performances were in the last hour.  Robert Plant and Allison Krause winning everything - HA, music industry is hilarious, all you cigar smoking executives want to seem interested in new music, but at the end of the day you just listen to Led Zepp -pa the tic.

Shockingl  My favorite performance was Radiohead, that performance was a nice reminder I never listened to In Rainbows and probably should have.

Loftie from Loft 965, alerted me of his latest mix collection, and offered it up to the PopMuse Community.  There's some great stuff on here, not the usual Pop and Boom Boom you're used to on PopMuse, so take this opportunity to educate (if you're feeling out of the hipster loop.)
