America's Most Smartest Supermodels Vs. Food

Why am I watching this show?  What is wrong with me?  Will I watch anything VH1 Reality serves me?  Yes.  So here it is America's Most Smartest Supermodel.  It features modeling challenges and brain bug challenges (because a supermodel has to be smart?) to various model-ish people.   Watch these clips from last week.

The supermodels are doing a "Smart Challenge" and the punishment for getting a wrong answer is eating delicious food.  Not ants, no pig's intestine, but, eating delicious yummy twinkies, chocolate cake and pancakes is the punishment.  And the models can't take it, they are horrified!  If only my brain worked this way, how different my life would be.  Anyway, watch these 3 clips, it's like 'Eating Disorder VH1-style'.  Or 'Bloghungry's most hated humans on the planet earth'.

Boom Boom Blog 10-27-07

Xxlpic I hear ya, ya want more Boom Boom Dance Music.  Is cool, PopMuse has plenty.  Here ya go, the latest dance mixes I'm listening to these days.

Justin & Beyonce "Until The End Of Time" (Sam 998899 Sticking Edit) [mp3]
Amazing mix.  Once in a while Beyonce will do a run (check 1:50 in) and remind us why we love her in spite of the cell phone commercials.

SPICE GIRLS "WANNABE" (SOULSEEKERZ MIX) [mp3]
Anything the soulseekerz do PopMuse loves.

Che'nelle "I Fell In Love With The DJ" (WaWa Mix) [mp3]
I love that she doesn't spell it Chanel, but Che'nelle.  Although this is all about WaWa's mixing.

DAVE GAHAN "KINGDOM" (RALPHI ROSARIO ALT. VOCAL MIX) [MP3]
Ralphi will turn any lyric into something filthy as he does here.  Nice to see Dave Gahan still making quality songs.

Natasha Bedingfield "Soulmate" (Bimbo Jones Radio Edit) [mp3]
Because this song is used so well on THE HILLS.

Carrie Fisher (the human) on 30 Rock

PopMuse's dog's namesake Carrie Fisher was on "30 Rock" last night.  She was hilarious, of course.  In case you missed it, here's a clip, watch above.

Oprah's Throwing Shade

See more at PopMuse TV.

Since Oprah finally admitted to her recent weight gain, thyroid, exhaustion, menopause - whateva moment, she has been so much more entertaining.  Yesterday she had on a Gays Around The World themed show.

The clip above is of her talking to NBA Gay John Amaechi, discussing the Tim Hardaway homophobic comments story.  Is it me or is she throwing a bit of shade at Hardaway and his publicist?

And it's old news now, but when Bill Cosby was on Oprah last week having his complete meltdown, she was giving him some looks like, 'Bill you jump on this couch, and I'll cut you!'.  Watch the tease below...

PopMuse Worships: PRIVATE

Private2 I discovered this new band PRIVATE after watching their youtube clip on ENDER's Blog.  Turns out their CD is the most listenable CD I've heard in quite some time.  I know very little about them, except that they are from Copenhagen, Denmark (of course) because as Charttrigger put it 'oh, that's right, we killed pop here in the States.'

PRIVATE is a total 80s Pop throwback.  The first notes of the CD are from Apollonia 6 "Sex Shooter" and final notes of the CD are a rainstorm straight off an ol' Janet CD.

Here's the inevitable comparisons that I use to encourage you to d'load... WHAM!, OLD MJ, TOM TOM CLUB, BROS., (tinges of) HUMAN LEAGUE.  They've got that asexual male vocal like Jermaine Stewart (hope Jermaine is smiling in heaven.)  It's a vocal style you really haven't heard since 1988.

I'm posting the whole CD below, because it will probably take years for an American Label to jump on this.  Enjoy.

Apocalyptic White Trash

20n_bernhard_wideweb__430x281 The Fires in L.A. bring to mind a few things.. First, what WON'T Al Gore do to promote his movie?  FOR CHRISTS SAKE, WE GET IT!  THEY GAVE YOU THE NOBEL PRIZE, NOW STOP ALREADY, WE'LL WATCH AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH! (maybe)  That was a joke, obviously these fires were set by Britney and her damn Newport Lights

Sorry, the fires aren't funny, especially when Anderson Cooper is reporting on them.  Coping mechanisms.

The main thing I think about when the fires in LA are a-blaze is Sandra Bernhard's "Apocalyptic White Trash".  Which, since she said these words way back in 1987, everyone has turned into.  Al, Britney, Sandra, even PopMuse.

Scissor Kick in the back of the Head

I know you are all home sobbing uncontrollably over the Ellen Degeneres / Iggy The Adopted Dog Soap Opera that is playing out on your TV and your Internets all damn day...  So I thought I would offer you a video clip to make you laugh.  Here's my favorite scene from Talladega Nights...  Watch Above or HERE.

Sinead on Oprah

The Oprah Show has become the new Entertainment Tonight, (watching "O" kiss endless celebrity ass feels awkward and wrong.)  But I did enjoy Sinead O'Connor's recent appearance talking about her Bi-Polar Disorder.  The clip above discusses the history of her disorder and then the clip below featuring Oprah asks Sinead about Britney Spears (as I said, new E.T.).  And I like Sinead's perspective on that whole mess.   Watch...

BONUS:  And what would PopMuse say if Oprah asked him about The Britney Show?  I'd sing this song...

Annie Lennox LIVE

PopMuse saw Annie Lennox in concert last week and it was such an amazing show.  I've seen her live before but each time I am reminded what an incredible performer she is.  For this whip she is performing in front of projections her old videos.  Which is quite bold as some of them are twenty years old and well, how different did you look 25 years ago?  But whatever, she rises above 'fear of aging' stuff, she's Annie Lennox

Allive The Tour is short and she's playing tiny venues, but it's worth the attempt to get tickets.  You won't be dissapointed, she plays everything you want to hear and more.

TOUR DATES AND TICKETS HERE

Highlights from the show were "When Tomorrow Comes" (video above.)  I love those lyrics SO much.  As a lifer insomniac, I can totally relate to writing a song about watching someone sleep...

"You know you looked just like a baby
Fast asleep in this dangerous world.
Every star was shining brightly
Just like a million years before.
And we were feeling very small
Underneath the universe."

Another highlight was "Pavement Cracks", which works better live than recorded.  Below is the mp3, plus an amazing remix by Gabriel and Dresden.

Mary's Janet Keyshia's Mary

Maryj Listening to the new Mary J. track "Just Fine" (apt title) it occurred to me that it is really a Janet Jackson track.  And with Mary singing it, it's average, but if Janet recorded it, it would've been above average.  Funny how that works?  And now that Mary J.'s old shoes are being worn by Keyshia Cole, what does Mary J. do?

Janty And why am I the only one talking about the new Janet Jackson Tyler Perry Movie.  Does this signal the end of Janet?  I'm having trouble admitting that Janet's career is dunzo.  It's not easy for PopMuse.  Not, easy.  I was a child of the Rhythm Nation, ask and I'll breakdown that "Miss U Much" choreography anyplace anytime.  I don't care, I'm gonna drag Bloghungry to see it this weekend, where he will be wondering "'Why Did I Get Pre-Civil-Union'd' to this freak?"

Carrie Fisher (the human) comments on Carrie Fisher (the dog)

Cfishundiscovered On my birthday, I looked down at my iphone and noticed a new comment had been posted on PopMuse.  And who was it from but the one and only Carrie Fisher (the human).  For those of you new to PopMuse, me and Bloghungry have a little adopted dog named Carrie Fisher (the dog).  Why "Carrie Fisher"?  Well it has very little to do with Princess Leia and a lot to do with Carrie Fisher (the human) survivor, writer, performer, etc...

Cfishfacesside Carrie Fisher (the dog) is epileptic, but on Meds now and doing great.  When she first went on the Pills I wrote THIS POST as we were both feeling a little woozy.

Carrie Fisher (the human) was home Googling herself on Sunday and found that post.  Here's her comment.  LOVE HER!!!  READ BELOW...

"This is the human Carrie Fisher, hoping that the dog by the same name is feeling better. I and had some extra time on my hands so tragically looked myself up and came across your ailing pet.

FYI, my grandmother had the awkward taste to name HER poodle Princess Leia and I hesitate to report that she came to an unfortunate end.
Hope your dog and I fare better and that she's up and around soon."
