Day to D.

Sorry I haven't been posting, I've been busy with Holiday Festivities.  Here's the rundown, my folks came to LA for a Thanksgiving Day Feast prepared by Bloghungry.  Then they left and we had a Leftover Feast dubbed "Thanksgiving Part 2" on Friday that had us both cooking for another 6 hours.  I made Smashed Sweet Potatoes with Pecans and Bourbon, yes delicious and then I made a Cool Whip Jello Pie, completely inedible.  BH made Turkey ala King and Turkey Croquettes (both good).

We saw "For Your Consideration", skip it, same shtick, not as well thought out as previous films, still not using Parker Posey enough.  Then we saw "Tenacious D. Pick Of Destiny", see it, same shtick too but held my attention for the whole film which is a feat these days, and loved the expansion of Lee's role in The Lore of The D.  Plus being surrounded by underage stoners at The Grove is always entertaining.

I also cleaned out my enormous itunes music library, deleting all those files I'll never listen to again, and preparing my computer for a new ipod, it's time.  I found a few songs hanging around in there that I thought I'd share...  Yes there is plenty to analyze in this mix but as I've said before, my life is an open blog... ENJOY!

Robbie Is A Pet Shop Boy

So this weekend I bought the new Robbie CD "Rudebox" (with Bonus DVD) and the new Pet Shop Boys Orchestral Concert CD "Concrete".  Robbie and PSB have more in common than my Saturday, PSB produced a few tracks on the new Robbie CD and Rob guests on this new PSB CD.  Below you'll hear Rob's "We're The Pet Shop Boys" from his new CD and Robbie covering (PopMuse fav) "Jealousy" from PSB's new Disc.

Bloghungry's Birthday

Being a Blogging Power Couple can be trying... PopMuse and Bloghungry fight off on-line stalkers, fight off paparazzi everytime we leave the house to walk Carrie Fisher, and it's becoming increasingly impossible for Bloghungry to go grocery shopping with the crowds of fans barking questions about cornbread and such.  We've considered getting security, but it's just not the way we want to live, ya know?

Anyway, fellow celeb couple TomKat were kind enough to have their wedding on the same day as Bloghungry's Birthday so we could get some peace.  It was very generous of them and I wish them much luck for the next 9 years and 350 days.

What will we be doing?  Well, this picture was selected because that is most likely how BH will look on his B-Day, as he plans to eat quiche all day, how's that for opulence!

Ciara: Sexy and Dressed

I like the new Ciara track "Promise" but I LOVE the video.  It's directed by Diane Martel, a director I worked with for a minute, and someone I'll always admire, no matter how, um, difficult those days were.  Anyway, this could be Diane's most personal work.  If Sophie Mueller directs Gwen as the woman she dreams about  (my guess) then Diane directed Ciara as the woman she dreams to be.  Ciara is styled in Diane's daily uniform of sweats and/or inappropriately tight jeans.  OK, um what am I writing about, like only three people care about this...

But I was motivated to post this clip because it is just so sexy, I mean like D'Angelo "Untitled" sexy.  That mic stand, that lean against the wall hip sway, the wigs, the choreography, TOO H.O.T.   And it occurred to me, while Janet is STILL stripping naked in her videos desperately (and I mean DESPERATELY) trying to turn nudity into street cred, here comes Ciara with a refreshing video that Janet could have easily done and blown us all away with.  Whatev, rant much, watch above.

Laguna Barbies

These girls from MTV's "Laguna Beach" make it too easy for me to hate them.  BUT WHY OH WHY AM I SO OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW???  In the clip above these extensions models are singing along to Aqua's "Barbie Girl" in a Range Rover which is hate-worthy in itself, but I've watched this clip a million times and it's so riddled with ugly nuances.... The blond does this little Britney Spears head turn mixed with this Christina finger-point-to-the-sky, which totally makes my skin crawl.  And then that Cami girl, the Black (?) chick personalizes the lyrics to say, "Come on Cami let's go Party!" It's a 30 second clip but it symbolizes everything wrong in the world.  Just watch it, you'll understand.  Oh yeah, and the Season Finale is this week and I'm so sad it's ending.  Issues, I know.

These youtube clips erase ALL!  Let me explain.  A big part of blogging is getting sick of your blog.  It happens to all bloggers.  Some hit the wall and end it (as happened with many blogs this September.)  Others (like me) take a minute to reflect on why they started this time-consuming, no-money-making, thankless hobby in the first place and rejuvenate.  PopMuse originally set out to educate the children, bring them hotness in a very un-hot world.  Well, the web has gotten kinda hot and it's harder and harder to blow people's minds.  But these clips take me back (in more ways than one).

Straight Marriage is so 5 minutes Ago

Britney filed for divorce from K-Fed.  Yup TMZ reports, she has filed the papers and hired the attorney.  Funny, K-Fed was on Tyra but 2 days ago claiming he'd be with Britney for the rest of his life, ooops.  Must be divorce season, Reese and Ryan, Whitney & Bobby, Chris Rock...  Yadda blah. 

It's a good thing Britney's done with her Sean Penn Phase.  Now let's pray for her Like A Prayer Phase, ya know? 

Watch Britney's guest Appearance on Dave Letterman last night.  She doesn't look too devastated to me.

So, yes, it looks like with these new electronic voting devices your vote isn't gonna count, nice, I know.  And shockingly Diebold, one of the makers of these crooked machines is a huge contributor to the Republican Party (of course).

But still, PopMuse wants to encourage EVERY ONE OF YOU TO VOTE THIS TUESDAY.  Start figuring out where you're gonna vote, when you're gonna vote, etc.  Do it for PopMuse.  Oh yeah, and Vote Democrat!  Unlike Oprah, I don't have to play both sides.

What does PopMuse have to do to get you kids to vote?  No seriously, I'm asking.  I know it's hard, you're so busy, no seriously, I understand, what has voting done for you lately?  I get it, you'd rather watch Dancing With The Stars, I hear ya.  But if PopMuse can, he's gonna try and motivate you people to GET OUT AND VOTE (Democrat) on November 7th.
