PopMuse is still in a huge feud with Janet Jackson. There was a glimmer of hope when I discovered that I actually liked 4 songs on her new CD (the rest is unlistenable). But then watching her LIE for a full hour on Oprah, claiming that she lost that weight via diet and exercises (try Lipo and Vicodin) set us back 10 giant steps. Anyway, Oprah asked Janet which relative she was closest to now and she said Jermaine. Jermaine is such a random Jackson right?
Do any of you remember that awful 1994 NBS Special "Jackson Family Honors"? Jermaine put it together and then failed to pay anyone who worked on it. Landing him and his family in court for fraud? Classy. Well, of course I have this TV event in the PopMuse Video Archives. The video clip above is the mind-blowing opening number. A Dance Interpretation of the Jackson Family Story. AMAZING!!!

As Janet makes her media rounds, I can't help but associate her with her crazy older bro lately. While some can't get over her nipslip (c'mon, big effin' deal - it was *so* planned people) I struggle with the fact the she got a crazy brother cruizin' Bahrain! Do you hear Michael each time Janet coyly speaks? The Ophra interview was ridiculous! Her delivery and intonations are more MJ than JJ, don't ya think?
I feel horrible sippin' on the hatorade with janet, as I've been a long-time fan, but damn!

I find something redeeming on every Janet release but 20 Y.O. has left me numb...where are the hooks? Its the only thing that saves her weak vocals yet they are as absent from this album as Michael is from a Kindercare!
Re-arranging the tracks and cutting out her insipid "interludes" made "Damita Jo" my favorite Janet CD but even reconstructing this once can't save it....Janet is over.....

Do you remember the night we met? We totally saw Jermaine on his cell right outside of the Regency Beverly Wilshire. We guessed he was chatting with Latoya re: the latest Michael accusations.
