I'm having one of those weeks where I just cant do another Britney/Gaga/Riri Mix.  Next week I promise. But right now I wanted to share some Deeper Cuts I've been jamming to this morning - it's a Sunday Morning Mix.  The names wont look familiar most likely, but give them a shot, trust PopMuse, you wont be dissapointed!!!  [PS I'm not doing spelling and grammer on this blog - you have no idea what it takes for me to steal 15 minutes away to do this these days - DEAL WITH IT!]

The 2 Bears - "Take a Look Around"  Laidback house with a nice laidback male vocal.  I love the way this guys say "body".

Tensnake - "Coma Cat" Has the fingersnaps straight outta Gwen Gutherie, a nice Frankie Knuckles 90s Sound Factory vibe and a pretty little melody too. Snap.

Groove Armada - At the River [English Riviera Mix] Who doesnt love this original?  Carpenters samples always work.

Julio Bashmore - Ensnare  Deeeeeeep.  Love the vocal in the middle - so ENDUP!

Cassie - King Of Hearts WHAT? Cassie?  But that's R&B?  Well R&B is basically boom boom and this is deeper more straight house than R&B even is.  This track is FIRE.  You'll want to Vogue while listening to it. You think you know....

Clubfeet - Edge Of Extremes (Original Mix)  Like a Hot Chip B-Side - in all the right ways.

Fort Romeau - Jack Rollin' When you've been at After Hours too long the DJ will play something like this and the entire night will evolve.  Or so I remember.

Flight Facilities - Crave You  You know it, but you should know it again. Perfection.

Clubfeet - Edge of Extremes (Butcher Blades/ Arctic Paralysis Remix)  Very different from the original above, totally mello house mix.

 

 

Best Of 2011 -- Pop! Music.

I'm terrible at BEST OF lists, because in March one track may be my JAM - but in December it's so overplayed I cant bear to listen to it, (hello Superbass and Robyn's entire catalog.)

But I took a stab at 2011 tracks that I still love listening to even though they've hit triple digits in my iTunes plays. 

Some surprising ones in here for sure.  It's not my Boom Boom BEST OF (although there is a few BOOMs in here) and it's super light on ballads, because if I have learned anything from doing this blog it's that you readers DO NOT like when I drop the ballads (which is funny considering how often I listen to and love them.)

And no time to list the the reasons for inclusion - we can argue about that in the comments if we must.  I gotta chase this 2 year old around!

The order isn't important, but above is how I listen to 'em.

The Saturdays - My Heart Takes Over (Steve More Club Mix) This is the best mix I've found of this track - WHICH I AM OBSESSED WITH!!!

Rogerseventwo "You Take Me Higher" (Original Mix) Repetitive euro house.  Fun energy!

Rihanna You Da One (Dan Clare Remix) Official mixes just dropped but in the meantime enjoy this one.  Dont sleep on this song, perfect islands head bobbin music.

Afrojack ft. Eva Simmons "Take Over Control" Agressive club banger.

Foster The People Helena Beat (Guiseppe Funka & D-velro Bootleg) Helena is in top 5 fav songs of year, this mix is strange, but I'll take it.

Adele Someone Like You (Shahaf Moran Extended Mix) There is just soemthing about this CD that remixes so wel.

Avicii Silhouettes ft. Kelis (Smoke & Mirrors Vocal Mix) Kelis doing dance music - SOLD (every damn time)!

Kelly Rowland - Down for Whatever (Ranny's Bootleg Mix) Kelly doing house - SOLD (every damn time!)

Britney I Wanna Go (Fred Bootleg Remix) Dare I say, favorite remix of this track coming out in the 11th hour of the cd.

Alexandra Stan "Get Back (ASAP)"  I'll never live this down, but I love it.

Deborah Cox - If It Wasn't For Love (Mixin' Marc & Tony Svejda Club Mix) I have trouble with D. Cox since like 2005 - but I'm fighting my way to loving this new one.

Britney Spears - Criminal (Rafael Lelis Anthem Edit) Mama I'm in love with a criminal blah blah blah.

Adele - Rolling In The Deep (Dj Chrys Remix) Again, love the Adele remixed.

Justin Timberlake featuring Beyoncé "Until The End Of Time" Jonathan Peters Club It's funking hearing Justin sing now, too much acting too much time, but this mix is only about Bey's verses and chorus - KILLS IT!

Here is my latest collection of Boom Boom Dance Mixes from around the web.  Some seriously hot stuff here, should take your weekend to the next level!  Let's jump in...

Rihanna We Found Love (Chuckie Extended Remix)  No words for how obsessed I am with the original and this remix.  Chuckie's mix holds true to the magic of the original while adding LENGTH and some fierce flourishes - HANDCLAPS!!!  Hang on, it's a journey mix that takes you to PLACES.  This will be one of those mixes that changes your entire life on first listen. Plan accordingly, I was a puddle about half way in, so be prepared.

Foster "Pumped Up Kicks" Gigamesh Mix  I'm hanging on to a thread of love for these guys, I was such an early adopter, it feels a bit stale now, but the remixes are helping.  This one is by Gigamesh - who is delivery some great mixes these days - is kinda mello retro disco and is cute.

The Saturdays - My Heart Takes Over (Digital Dog Radio Edit) This is like all those Deborah Cox mixes back in the late 90s that turned us OUT.  Epic chorus, big room feel.  Sorry I don't have the extended or better quality version, surprisingly had to find???

Cobra Starship feat. Sabi "You Make Me Feel" (Dark Intensity Club Mix)  SICK.  You know the Top 40 hit, but try and release expectation and ride the synth in this mix - it's so trippy, headphones help.  Dark Intensity - KILLING IT these days.  All about the chorus and where it goes at the drum break.

Robyn "Dancing On My Own" Buzz Junkies Club Mix  We aren't going to talk about the Robyn show at the Bowl last month.  INSTEAD we are going to talk about re-discovering this FUN remix of DOMO.  When it came out originally I was too attached to the original to love remixes but now it's my everything.

David Guetta & Usher "Without You" (Cutmore Killa Radio Edit)  This is a REAL moment for both Guetta and Usher.  First time I heard the original I was all 'is Usher trying to be Coldplay' then I found this crazy mix by Cutmore - and HOLY SHHHhhhhhhhhh.  So good.

Erasure "Be With You" (Moto Blanco Club Mix)  Ya know, it's Erasure and Moto Blanco.  Sold. This is what under 21 gay clubs SHOULD sound like.

Kelly Rowland "Down for Whatever" (Max Sanna and Steve Pitron Radio Edit)  This song is kind of EVERYTHING isn't it?  It's Kelly's moment can we just GIVE IT TO HER ALREADY!  And this mix is perfection.

Switch & Andrea Martin - I Still Love You (Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries 'ADE Takeover' Bootleg)    Andrea Martin delivered one of my favorite house vocals of all time on Share The Love with Hani. And this is totally in that vein. This is some after hours tweaker shit.  I hope there are other mixes coming out for this vocal because it's IMPORTANT.

Tom Hangs feat. Shermanology - Blessed (Avicii Edit) Becasue there is no big name pop star on this some of you wont d'load it and it's a real shame because this is not to be missed.  It's actually beautiful.  The vocal is churchy while the instru is total power tech house.  Try it - you WILL like it.

Richard Grey "One More Time"  This is tricky for me because I am one of those people that would be happy to never hear Daft Punk's ONE MORE TIME again - or am I?  This new take on it kind of turned me out recently. But when I listen now, I'm lukewarm, who knows. I thought the visceral first listen was good enough reason to post.

Katy Perry - The One That Got Away (Mixin' Marc & Tony Svedja Edit)  Ugh - you want it, so here ya go.

Timbaland (feat Pitbull and David Guetta) "Pass at Me" (Riddler Revolution Radio Edit) We need to be talking about this one MORE.  Hands in the air doing latin claps while stomping your feet - all night!  Crazy hot deep club cut.  Or perfect for the treadmill for you gym boys.

Hey!  Boom Boom Time.  I'm in a bit of a mood today so I'm not sure how these notes are gonna go, but this is a strong collection of music and I actually have an hour today to get this post done so I'd better do it and do it now! Let's go!

Rihanna "What's My Name" (Kik Klap Radio Edit)  I really might as well just turn PopMuse into a fan site for this song.  It's unnatural how I am still so in love with this track. Every damn mix too.

Will Young "Come On" (Cahill Club Mix) HOLY CHRIST!  Ya know how I love a male vocal on a dance track, add sad sack lyric and piano s-s-s-sold!  So GOOD.  Get ready to weep.

Kelly Rowland "Down For Whatever" (Steve Pitron & Max Sanna Radio Edit) Fun tech mix.  Love Kelly's voice.  Down for whateva - Ms Kelly!  Get her.

Katy Perry "The One That Got Away" (7th Heaven Radio Edit)  Super adorable song and remix. Peak Hour. Goes to that EPIC place you want it to.

Leann Rimes - Give (Cahill Club Mix) Dunno, feels like old dance trance from 1999, like Chicane or something, but that's cool I suppose.

The Wanted "Lightning" (The Alias Radio Edit)  Sorry this one might not be my shining moment.  But there is this little piece of synth at the end of the chorus I really like.  It's Boy Band Rock remixed - yeah, well, try it if you like that kind of thing.

Britney "Criminal" (Shahaf Moran Radio Mix) I will never, for the life of me, understad this track as a single, never.  But it's britney and its a dance remix so here ya go.

Beyonce "Countdown" (Manny Lehmans Big Room Remix) Oh Manny, you and your BIG ROOMS!  The slowed down vocal is a strange choice, but sort of works in hypnotic way.

Adele – Rumour Has It (George M Private Bootleg) Something about this one makes me want to vogue around my living room.  Have I shared it already?  Get it again and PRANCE!

Bingo Players Cry (Just A Little) Having a little love affair with euro radio hit.  Repetitive, but fun.

CLASSIC:

Beyonce "Get Me Bodied" (Hex Hector Mix)  I recently re-discovered an old mix of mine called HARDER - which I did when I was Gym-ing.  The collection was wicked fierce and this one is a standout.  "Do the Naomi Campbell WALK!"

Jordan Knight - Stingy ft. Donnie Wahlberg

 

Is that PM Dawn I hear in here?  WHY YES IT IS!!!!  Exactly what I want from Jordan and Donnie.  Love.
